The answer was simple, yes. He did, but he’d yet to find a way to earn redemption. How does one take back the pain he’d caused after so many failures? First his family, then his friends. The list stretched on, and continued to grow every year it seemed. The only thing he could think of doing was offering his help, but as of lately, even the brothers had denied it after last time.

With Claire it was seemingly no different. His gaze fell on her briefly, taking in her expression; tense, as it usually was when he was around her. He couldn’t say he blamed her. She was looking at the being that had taken her father. He was a walking reminder of what she’d once had, and would never have again. Her father was gone, her mother was gone. Any semblance of family was, as far as he knew, nonexistent. 

Then what could he say to that question? Yes, and then what? An apology seemed pointless, empty after what he’d done. Words of comfort would not be appreciated, not when he’d been the one to deal the harm in the first place. Was he starting to overthink this? Was Claire really only looking for an admittance of guilt.

   ❝ look kid, i don’t give a crap how old you are---- i’ve been in the game much longer then you, and if you wanna finish this case alive then we do things my way, ❞ Vi was all too familiar with the teenage angst; never wanting to take orders from anyone. The young blond reminded her so much of herself, but she needed to make sure Claire didn’t get hurt,    ❝ got it? ❞

          Claire getting out of the life was not an option and he knew that after their last run in. She was a hunter alright. Even if he wished she wasn’t. Though she seemed to ‘get over it’, as much as one can, Dean still blames himself for her father’s body becoming Cas’s vessel. A girl needs to have her dad around. 

            So yeah, maybe he’s made a little more time for her then he should have. Maybe he’s put off a few cases, ignored a few other calls to take hers instead, so what? Jodi’s got it covered but he could still be there. To help. To guide. Castiel was around of course but the dude can only identify with so much human shit before getting cross eyed and making no sense. There’s some things you just need another person for.

the novaks are a blessing everyone should love them but like i’ve seen a couple jimmy blogs and obviously claire blogs but no amelias. and like i get she’s not an angel vessel or a hunter but this is a woman who went on a country-wide years long search for her husband like “motherfucker no give my husband back to me” how is that not cool and talked about more??
