Red Riding hood is one of those stories that w all know. The wolf comes out of this rather badly I’m afraid...but in this image the wolf is creating change and empowerment. This is originally a feminist tale so the butterflies are there to remind us of the freedom that waits when we stray off the path. When did you last choose to not here the warnings and follow where your intuition lead you. When did you last allow the freedom of the wolf call to guide your path. Raven comes into the image again as a symbol of transformation as the girl steps into her space of knowing and chooses her own direction. Some animals feel like family...we connect to their energy. My wolf spirit animal is also my power animal. The power animal is the tribe or pack I belong to. I am connecting to my wolf and girl drawings. Excited to be working towards using these images to create some of my wearable art pieces as I step into this space of connections with wolf medicine.. 🌀🐺🌀🐺🌀 The extension of the Richmond Library Whimsical Owl show made me aware of the lack of girls and wolves in my drawings. The paintings are well on the way to completion but there were very few drawings. Over the weekend I have used all the creative spaces I could find to create a series of wolf and girl drawings. I want that feeling of connection and a deep bond that is about the familiar and the loyal connection between the girl and the wolf. The wolf is about stepping into personal power and owning that inner strength. It is the voice from the movie ‘The Labyrinth’ stating ‘ You have no power over me’ . The wolf is a reclaiming of the wild nature and that deep intuitive knowing as described in the mythological story of Loloba as bone woman gathers each bone to form a skeleton that once forms grows fur and runs free across the desert and is transformed from a wolf into a wild woman dancing free in the desert horizon. This connection is a reclaiming of a sense of self as connected, guided and free as we reclaim who we are . This is the space where the soul connects to the energy of creation and dances itself into being. The power that the wolf brings is that if the lone wolf setting forth on a path where there is recognition of the wild soul that seeks wholeness and in so doing is set free. 💜🌀💜🌀💜 This is the space of recognising that heart connection that is boundless and eternal. The wolf as teacher, guides our path as friend and companion wherever the wild creative soul may lead. Life is a dance of exploring ways to find balance. My wolf guide is the reminder that I need to step into that space of balance that is that grounded inner strength. My owl who has been a focus for awhile is reminded being me to question everything and not to take life to seriously. 🐺🌀🦉🌀🐺 Balance is achieved through the connection of mind, body and spirit. It is finding what my personal balance looks like. I started kundalini yoga as a way to explore personal balance and it feels right. Some of my muscles are complaining but that is a transitioning phase as my body adjusts. This practice is groundbreaking and opening me and is a lovely addition to my day that energises me and raises my vibration. 🐺🌀🦉🌀🐺 I’m still exploring what balance looks like as an artist but slowly putting the pieces together. My main animal spirit guides are the owl and the wolf. As I play with this collage beginning point I thought I’d share. The lovely thing about using simple shapes to c rate the basis of my spirit animal is that I get unexpected forms. I can only plan part of it and the rest is pure intuition. 💜 I love this as it holds so many surprises. It will be fun to see where the next mixed media layers take me. This is all part of this connected, guided art adventure that is such a lovely exploration of finding possibilities. Life has so many choices and new directions that are full of delightful surprises. 🌀 These are the beginning spaces and are similar to how I created my owls and are all wip.
