garbage show. white people like to use it as a gotcha to excuse their own prejudices because liking su means that they’re ‘progressive’.
this show has had too many issues with racism for them all to be considered mistakes, this show defends space tyrants, this show portrays what is very obviously abuse and, on the victims behalf (not the victim herself), the abusers are sympathized with and treated like a broken family.
this show treats its characters badly, this show has poor lgbt rep and is still somehow praised for it, this show thinks that a romance between a master and her slave is romantic and not at all fucked up.
this show has insanely rabid fans who will scream and cry whenever someone dares to critisize their uwu perfect wittle show, and will look at every problem the show has and see it with rose (haha) colored glasses.
personally speaking, i associate su with specific people who both would throw a shitfit because i dared to critisize this show or one of the characters (and u know who those people are), one of them defended concrete and the other got so over the top aggressive about me joking that pd sucked and jasper didnt (keyword JOKING) that they sent me into an anxiety attack. it’s been a year since that happened and honestly they probably didn’t change in terms of screaming and throwing their shit on the walls because someone likes a character that they don’t.
to those people who heavily attach their identities to this show: you’re only making yourself more upset when someone insinuates that it isn’t perfect. and if you’re one of those people who will endlessly harass people, or do any of the above, because someone said it wasn’t a good show: then grow. the fuck. UP.
