it all happens so fast. one minute everything is fine then the next, the door flies open and there stands allison with a crossbow. the next time you're aware of what's happening -- your hands are drenched in derek's blood. did you do this ? no. that was allison. except there's no way that was allison. you did wake up this morning unable to read. plus that weird feeling of not feeling like you were alone in your body. maybe it was a warning even though you wake up like that most mornings. maybe it's always been a warning. but how were you supposed to ever predict this ?

          “ Potato. Tomato. They’re still assholes for what they did to you, Derek. “ He practically growled at the excuse, still upset about it now that he thought about it. “ Y’know sometimes I think Peter was right. “

           “ ‘said I’ll be fine. “ He insists, almost angrily. More frustrated with the whole thing. He hated damn hunters. Always using some weird and ancient crap in their bullets. Hissing as he willed the skin to close over as if that would make the pain subside. Through gritted teeth, he pushed the older werewolf away to try and stand on his own. Feeling his knees start to buckle, he cursed under his breath and grabbed onto him not even a minute after. 

          “ Can we bite them just a little bit? “ He exhales, realizing he had no chioce but to hold onto Derek until they get to safe grounds. 

He doesn’t say that he’s freaking terrified right now with his heart beat as loud as it is. Feeling too much like his own organ was trying to eat through him from the inside out. He just remembered Derek saying that everything is heightened after the bite. He could hear every pulse and every blood vessel seemingly popping inside his head. But he can’t move. 

He can’t fight off the panic that was starting to stir in the very pit of his spine. He has to control it. He has to focus on something. He has to. Derek trusted him to do this. 

But the walls felt heavy. Like they were closing in. And logically, he knew they weren’t. It’s just a minute. He’s never told him he didn’t like small spaces. He was too big for them. There wasn’t enough oxygen. Too many thoughts. Too many — 

   “ I can’t — “ He argued. Swallowing dry. His throat closed in. Claws digging into Derek’s arms. The chains weren’t walls. He knew it. He could pull and he could struggle. He knew that too. But he can’t – the full moon was in a few days. And he’s going to end up hurting someone. “ No. I can’t..I can’t do this…there has to be some other way. Derek, please. “
