Still eh on some of the designs so this is a perfect opportunity to give me some feedback!!

SPOTLIGHT: Kai and Nya!

Ninjago Wings of Fire AU

(Ignore Skyler she’s just kinda there)

Ray: Ray was born a middle class skywing, destined for a life of mediocrity, but luck was greatly in his favor. He was considered to be the most handsome skywing currently alive. With deep red scales and black stripes across his body, perfectly complimented by a naturally larger and more angular body. His parents quickly seized the opportunity and put him into military training, earning a great reward for his contributions. While in the Skywing army Ray rose up the ranks quickly and was stationed with his own wing on the border with the kingdom of the sea, where he met and fell deeply in love with a SeaWing, Gaia. They were quite awful at hiding their feelings and their queens soon found out. Knowing Scarlet would kill him, Ray abandoned his tribe and swore loyalty to Queen Coral, who allowed him to work as a blacksmith with his fire to make metal weapons and armor for the Seawing army. He joined Wu and Garmadon in the war against the serpentine RainWings and grew very close with the other elemental masters and especially Wu. He is a somewhat anxious dragon, always looking over his shoulder, but gets quite cocky when he is comfortable. He was overjoyed when he discovered they were going to be parents and bragged across the Seawing kingdom and to the other elemental masters.

Maya (Gaia): Gaia was born into minor SeaWing nobility, and lived a quiet life for most of her childhood. While not as much as Ray, she was highly regarded as an image of the perfect Seawing. With beautiful ocean blue colors and dark blue markings. She went into the Seawing army but did not take is seriously, never aiming to climb the ranks. After discovering her control over water, she joined the elemental masters with permission from coral on the condition she ensure the war against the RainWings was never fought near SeaWing territory. Around this time she met Ray, and fell for his open and friendly personality, which was so different from the haughty and unfriendly court she knew from her childhood. When he ran away with her she pleaded with coral to allow him to stay in their territory, to which coral reluctantly agreed to. Maya however was much more anxious than Ray, constantly worried about her image with the other SeaWings because she fell for a SkyWing, especially due to her high status and because in the words of many, she “Wasted her perfect SeaWing genes”. She was also terrified of what scarlet might do if she found out about her dragonets. She aided Ray in his blacksmith work along with her work alongside the elemental masters. She nearly died from heartbreak when her and her husband were kidnapped and separated from their dragonets

SPOTLIGHT: LLOYD

Wu and Garmadon: Their hatching and childhood is shrouded in mystery. What’s known is that they are both animus dragons born from their father, also an animus. Some question if they are even from Phyrria due to their ability to shapeshift. Garmadon chooses to live as a nightwing, while Wu chooses to live as an AllWing with his own flair (much to his brother’s annoyance). As young adults they formed an alliance with other empowered dragons, the elemental masters, to fight against the use of animus magic in war. During this battle they both fell in love with and fought over a female RainWing, Misako. After forging his brother’s love letter, Garmadon won her over. While they were both young, Garmadon was poisoned by a mysterious RainWing, and forever suffered mental instability due to the poison, eventually tempting him to use his animus powers unsafely, eventually corrupting him shortly following the hatching of his son. After his soul was shattered from a spell, he left the continent and wasn’t seen again for many years.

Misako: A RainWing historian. As a young adolescent she fell for two animus brothers and later married Garmadon. At some point in their marriage, Garmadon used his powers to give Misako the power of visions at her request, but these unfortunately tortured her, seeing endless futures of her husband and son murdering each other, so after Garmadon went mad, she sent her son away to a skywing academy so she could study the futures. She assumed he would be unaffected due to RainWings lack of parental care, but Lloyd took after his father and was traumatized by the abandonment.

NINJAGO WOF AU

Pixal’s family lore!

Backstory: Pixal was born in the skywing kingdom but immediately thrown out by her mother into the scorpion den. She was found by a groups NightWings and taken to the nightwing island, in hopes that they could discover an IceWing weakness. After this failed Morrowseer planned to have her killed. Cyrus took pity on her and chose to hide her, raising her in secret. Her childhood was rough and cruel, unlike the other nightwings, she had no adaptations to eat Carrion and was slowly starving, unable to keep food down. Cyrus mediated this by cooking her food but it didn’t provide enough nutrients and he barely ate enough himself. It’s around this time Pixel developed a serious phobia of maggots. She only survived because Cyrus’ close friend, Quickstrike, brought her food from the mainland. As she got older she got smarter but never quite learned to fight. She learned to hide her identity by covering herself in black paint and wearing a cloak to roam the island unnoticed. She attended some NightWing classes but never made friends, too terrified of being discovered as an IceWing. Quickstrike was something of a mother figure to her and helped teach her basic fighting, and was inspired to have a dragonet of her own. In my AU Cyrus was the dragon Quickstrike chose to be the father, but only because he was her trusted friend, and not as a mate. Deathbringer was raised with her and they were quite close, since he knew she was an IceWing and would never out her. Pixal miraculously survived to young adulthood. But disaster stuck after her and Cyrus learned of Quickstrike’s death. With no allies her and Cyrus escaped the NightWing kingdom and lived on the mainland, where Cyrus worked for various dragons making inventions. Eventually he would work for the ninja where Pixal for the first time in her life, saw another IceWing, Zane.

Goldenrod: Goldenrod is Pixal’s biological mother. A cruel and bloodthirsty Skywing IceWing hybrid. Her bloodlust is strongly contrasted by her beauty, with scales of Snow White and bright golden markings, wings, claws, antlers and eyes. She had many flings with different dragons she found attractive, never expecting to fall pregnant. When she did she immediately hated her daughter, seeing motherhood as a sign of weakness. She threw Pixal into the scorpion den, hoping she would perish. When she is reunited with Pixal she is sure to remind her of how weak and foolish Pixal is compared to her, and is a major villain in the AU

Brumal: Pixal’s Biological father is a minor Nobel coming from a powerful IceWing family. He is quiet, smart, and described as uninteresting. He does as he’s told and does it well. He didn’t know Pixal existed and when they did meet years later he wasn’t cruel to her and did genuinely hope she lived a good life. But unfortunately he showed zero interest in becoming a part of her life. Not seeing her as his real daughter, as he had a family of his own, with 3 sons, Pixal’s half siblings. He gave her advice to not seek for her blood relatives, but instead appreciate her found family. Pixal, having met Goldenrod before this, was glad for his lack of aggression but still deeply saddened, feeling abandoned. (Lucky grandmothers showed up but that’s a story for another day)

Spotlight: Jay!

Ninjago Wings of Fire AU!

(Cliff doesn’t get a Graphic Novel style bc I hate him)

Sierra and Cliff: Sierra was biological mother and the past master of lightning. She was a carefree and kind dragon filled with too much energy. Very naïve, and easily trusting. She fell for a SeaWing performer, Cliff, but the relationship quickly went sour. Cliff was narcissistic and abusive. Cheating on her repeatedly until she could no longer take it and ran away. She intended to return a few days later for her egg and to hopefully talk things out, only to find that Cliff had given up the egg to the SkyWing couple to get back at her for leaving, and because he had no interest in dragonets. In her fury she attacked him (not lethally) and left for good, returning to the other elemental masters. Wu comforted her, explaining that the baby was likely much safer raised by regular dragons than with the elemental masters. She did eventually find the couple with the egg, but when she saw how calm and loving their relationship was, she decided it was better for her son to be raised with them, and that one day she would find him again. Tragically this never happened, as during a battle with a villain on the NightWing island, she was thrown into a pool of lava, killing her? Cliff died in Jay’s teenage years due to an unspecified illness

Ed (Short for Red lol) and Edna (nickname for Ember): The elderly and sweet SkyWing couple who raised Jay. Not a whole lot to say, they were great parents, low class in the sky kingdom and always optimistic. Red was an inventor but largely overlooked by the SkyWing court due to his low status, and Ember was his lifelong partner. She originally studied to be a healer before she met Red.
