AMRAP: Style - Forging Elite Fashion
AKA MY NEW FAVORITE WEBSITE!! AMRAP Style
This basically just puts together functional, yet fashionable, clothes for WODs and other forms of working out. Some of it is definitely unnecessary...I'm not wearing a kettlebel necklace to my evening WOD. BUT just because you're going to the gym and sweating your ass off doesn't mean you have to dress in your pajamas. I really did not have adequate gym attire until recently. I'd throw on one of my Fiance's T-Shirts and a pair of ratty pajama pants or sweat pants. I didn't FEEL fit, so I had less motivation to BE fit.
I can hear people rolling their eyes. But listen...this kind of stuff (some of it) is important. Growing up I did a lot of theater. I never truly felt like I was embracing the character I was portraying until we did our dress rehearsals. I'd put on the fairy wings or the sleek 1940's dress and suddenly I became someone else.
If I'm going to get a new snatch PR or finish Fran in a reasonable amount of time...I'm going to need to look and, more importantly, FEEL the part. When you put on your most comfortable WOD clothes...you probably feel the same way. If I'm self conscious in what I am wearing, my performance suffers. If I want to be my best, I think it helps to look my best. The rest sort of just falls into place.
I'm not saying this is a PF Flyer situation, where I can lace those bad boys up and suddenly I'm Benny Rodriguez (if you don't get that reference, you're dead to me) but I AM saying that the first time I put on my new Reebok Nanos....my box jump height double. FO' REAL.
So while some may scoff at me...I'm going to continue to use this site as a reference to find gym clothes that are flattering, yet functional. Kudos to those in charge of putting the outfits together. I LOVE THEM!
