warm me up and take it slow
When she woke, Shane was gone. Keagan stared around herself with wide, confused eyes, wondering where she had gone and why she had left without a word. The sheets beside her were, of course, cold. They would have been even if Shane's body were there and she reached under her for a feel. "Shane?" the redhead called into the silent room, but there was no reply. The fear started low in her belly, filling her with this terrifying dread she didn't even know the source of as she sat up and carefully slipped from the bed. She was still naked from head to toe, but for once she was uncomfortable with it. The first thing she did was search for the oversized t-shirt, but it was nowhere to be found.
There was a breeze, cold and biting, that had fear shooting down the line of her spine. She turned towards the opposite side of the room to find its source and discovered for the first time that the window was open. That was weird. Weren't hotel windows usually made to not open? So that people wouldn't jump. Keagan frowned to herself and moved slowly towards it, thinking perhaps that Shane had gone through it for whatever reason. Closer and closer she drew until, arms crossed over her breasts, she stood directly in front of it with green eyes peering out into the blackness of the night.
And suddenly a face appeared, ugly and twisted and cruel, face dripping with blood as it screeched. She screamed and stumbled backwards as the vampire came through the open window, eyes black and wild and hungry. "Get the fuck away from me!" she yelled as the thing drew closer, licking red lips. "Get the fuck away! Shane!" The vampire's name came to her lips over and over. "Shane! Shane!"
"Shane, Shane!" a voice mocked from behind, and she spun to see some woman watching her with cold eyes and a mocking smile. "A pity, such a pity. It seems your lover isn't here to save you." The vampire slammed into her back, the animalistic, bloodied thing. It did not bite, but pinned her to the floor while the woman approached and surveyed her terror-ridden face. "She can't save you here, little girl. And when we come for you..." She bent down, dragged Keagan's head up by the hair with rough fingers until their faces hovered close together. Keagan watched her, horrified, struggling fruitlessly. "When we come for you, she won't be able to save you there either. You will all die for your wrongs." And she bent closer, delivered a light peck to Keagan's lips before tossing her down again. "Kill her," she said flatly, and the vampire that pinned her down began to tear into her, razor sharp fangs sinking into flesh as she screamed and screamed and screamed, watching the woman - witch - leave through a waterfall of crimson...
"NO!" she screamed, thrashing violently on the hotel bed. "No no no, please... Shane! Shane!"
