โYes.. I--I understand. Iโll be on the next flight out.โ Bucky murmurs as he hadnโt wanted to wake his girlfriend whoโd been asleep beside him when heโd gotten a very heart wrenching phone call. Numbly setting his phone back down on the nightstand. He tried to tell himself that Thelma would pull through. That whatever sickness sheโd caught wouldnโt take her life so soon. But, he had known it was the same sickness that her husband had caught and died from a few years earlier. Just before Bucky had ended up in Wakanda for treatment and therapy.
Unaware that he was beginning to slip into an uncontrolled sob until he heard himself. A sharp gasp as his lungs begged for air. Slipping out of the bed, hoping he didnโt wake Sarah. Though by the time heโd gotten himself in the bathroom, bucky was on his knees. Sobbing long before he could even bring himself to attempt turning on the shower to muffle the noisy criesย that left his chest.ย
The only thing that grabbed his attention was the feeling of his girlfriendโs arms slowly wrapping around his shoulders. Sniffling and trying to catch himself.ย โm.. sorry for waking you..โ Thickness with the addition of the rawness through his attempt to get the words out.ย โThelmaโs.. deathly sick..โ Choking up and losing himself in another fit of sobs.ย โOkoye and Ayo.. are expecting me at the airport.. by sun rise..โ Lifting his head, finally looking at Sarah with puffy eyes from his tears and a bright red nose.ย โCome.. with me? Please?โ Begging in a weak muttered pitch.ย
