World Listening Day 2016
This year on World Listening Day (July 18th), I took over CFRC’s History Vault to broadcast a special prepared work. Over the course of an hour, works selected from CFRC’s music library were played over each other.
During the first third of the broadcast, albums were selected entirely at random from the station’s collection. The first track was used in all cases for CD’s, while vinyl was left to play Side A until another vinyl selection was chosen.
During the second third of the broadcast, selections were made manually, but were restricted for each piece to a specific physical zone of the library. First tracks were still used, and vinyl was still left to play on Side A.
During the final third of the broadcast, all selection were made manually.
