This relates to media and information literacy because, it is a basic literacy to not steal or leak any information or posts from other people without their consent.

It creates normalizations of re-posting of posts without seeking for the owner’s consent.

It is timely and relevant because, there are a lot of tweets that went viral that was posted to Facebook after it went viral on Twitter and some re-posts tweets without the consent of the tweet’s owner.

My opinion is that even if the account is public, it does not mean that it shall be re-posted everywhere else and make it viral again on other social media platforms.

Too much Social Media is not healthy

Population of people who uses social media up to this date. Since there are more on my generation who uses social media frequently I wanted to leave a question to them “Do you have time thanking your parents everyday or even taking time to talk to the Lord?”

Personally It’s sad how people manage to be update on what’s happening on their surroundings and being clueless with what is already happening inside their own home or their selves.

Media is important on disaster preparedness and ways on how they do it.

Media does many things for the disaster preparedness like informing many people on different disasters and telling them what to do, using the past disasters as an example on why they have to prepare for those scenarios. They also uses websites and T.V shows such as DOST-NOAH, red alert, PAGASA’s official website and many more for possible hazards and gives off warnings on incoming disasters. This materializes due to the events that happened before due to the lack of information and notice given off by media. Example of these events are Typhoon Ketsana and Typhoon Haiyan, not many people knows what to do when storm surge and flooding happened during this time. However, in the current happening most people knows what to do during the same disasters. Also, there are evidences on improvements on preparations during these calamities due to media’s coverage on these events and informing it to people which helps the government in planning for these disasters.
