#Repost @ben_banters ・・・ In the past 9 years, I’ve seen a lot of knife videos. Shucks, I’ve made a lot of knife videos. I’ve been up to my nostrils in knife videos. And this. This is a great knife video (and not just because the Banter is in it, although that never hurts 😉). The folks @worksharptools are crushing it. They’ve started a new YouTube show where they’re educating on sharpening knives, stropping, fixing knife tips, etc. It’s content that is well made, clearly deliberate, and incredibly informative. Sure, it’s an advertisement. But it’s a USEFUL advertisement- the best kind. I’m thrilled for them. Let me explain a few textbook things they’re doing right with their show: -Weekly releases. Consistency is key. -Useful. I’m learning things as I watch. -Quick. They get to the point of the video early. -Engaged. They’re asking questions, responding to questions and talking to the community. -Human. YouTube is at its core a people watching platform. Using people was a smart move. And a few suggestions for improvement, because I'm insufferable with this stuff (ask @jamieontherock) : -We’ve got to find a microphone fix: lavs hanging on t-shirts is never my favorite. -Embrace the funny. Accentuate it. Call it out. Make memes of it. Let the editor become a character that gets to speak through the film and crack visual jokes. -You need a WIUG sticker for that toolbox in the corner of the frame. 🙌 Well done, amigos. I'm looking forward to the next episodes. Let me know if you ever need a guest who is terrible at sharpening. #knifelife #knives #WIUG #benblue #knafs #weKnives https://www.instagram.com/p/CDQ94k5AjSo/?igshid=c6ke27nyjebf
