Far, far off the beaten path near the mouth of a cave, the pocket monster had nested into a comfortable, uninhabited flower patch. Though it was only morning, his day had just ended. He began to doze off. Just as he did, however, he was shaken from his coveted rest by a few sudden, unwarranted gusts of wind.
An only-vaugely familiar, very large bird pokemon was now before him. His head raised, unable to rest and now plagued with curiosity over this new presence.
“...Oh... I’m sorry? Am I in your territory?” A tired, polite drone sounded from his lips.

It was a mistake to ever be ignorant of his surroundings, but for the moment, ‘Firelight’ was not paying attention to much of anything. Lost in his thoughts, he was much closer to dosing off in the late afternoon sunshine. The hidden grotto in which he currently lay seemed safe enough, anyhow. Letting his attention wander so completely hadn’t seemed to be such a bad thing...
After all, it was a hidden grotto.
The sleeping pokemon was merely soaking up the morning sunlight, blissfully enjoying it's warmth. He was thankful for every little thing, big and small, that surrounded him. He was thankful for every aspect of his life as he had it now.
