Ucrania se retira de Eurovision 2019
Tras no llegar a un acuerdo con ninguno de los 3 primeros clasificados de su selección nacional “Vidbir” el ente público del país ha decidido sacar una nota de prensa en la que anuncia su retirada este año del Festival de Eurovision 2019.
“El Festival de Eurovisión es una gran oportunidad para que cada país se muestre a nivel internacional, donde los artistas se convierten en perfectos embajadores de la nación, enfrentándose a un escaparate mundial. Sin embargo nuestra selección nacional ha confirmado el grave problema sistémico de la industria musical en Ucrania: la conexión del mundo del espectáculo con el territorio agresor, en el quinto año desde el inicio del conflicto militar. Para una parte de nuestra sociedad, este hecho es inaceptable, algo que causa indignación y rechazo. Las leyes de Ucrania no establecen ninguna restricción de que nuestros artistas actúen en el territorio de la Federación Rusa, a pesar de la petición pública. Por ello, siguiendo la Ley de Radiodifusión Pública, así como la excesiva politización de la selección nacional, UA: PBC ha decidido negarse a participar en el Festival de la Canción de Eurovisión 2019”.
