ᴡʜᴏ: DELILAH RIPLEY & THANE DELOS ( @damagedflames ) ᴡʜᴇʀᴇ: DELILAH'S OFFICE, PRESIDENT SNOW'S MANSION ᴡʜᴇɴ: NIGHT OF THE (FAILED) LAUNCH
Honestly, she had been expecting things at the tribute tower to be a lot more difficult. Sure, she was still waiting on Heavensbee for a list of names to point the finger at – to be fired or killed or something worse and infinitely more fun – but, she had been assured that all was ready for the games to go ahead ( almost ) as scheduled tomorrow morning. The gamemakers seemed satisfied with this outcome. Delilah, unfortunately, was not.
The games, and by extension, the Capitol, and by further extension, Delilah herself – had been made into an absolute mockery by these so-called 'rebels'. They were fighting a pointless cause, a losing battle, and yet they were still managing to make Delilah's life more difficult. It seemed terribly unfair that she had to worry over this at all – and yet she wouldn't complain. Despite herself, Delilah found that she enjoyed the challenge. Even if this so-called challenge meant that she was currently lying on the floor of her office, long after the sun had gone down, massaging her temples to rid herself of an insufferable headache.
She'd not expected company at this time of night. There were very few within Snow's cabinet who took their jobs as seriously as Delilah did. And there were even fewer who would enter her office with the audacity not to knock first. She lifts her head to tell whoever it is to fuck off, when she is met with the dark eyes of THANE DELOS. She likes Thane – if only because he is always eager to do her dirty work for her without question. Like a rabid mutt on a leash – vicious, but controlled. "You're interrupting my thinking time." She says, "What do you want?"
