Worms in the Wood . . . The dark, sacred night. I find the sweetest solace alone, in the morning, in the complete quiet of our space. The refrigerator is humming. The Minisplit sounds like a marching band trying to pump out heat. Our downloaded sounds humming like rain in the bedroom, a faint glimmer. My tinnitus ringing like a screaming banshee for only me to hear (& those of my companions who understand the pain of tinnitus). Everyone should read William Shatner’s autobiography - his wisdom on tinnitus and many more topics is profound, and he is a gentle teacher worthy of highest praise for his wisdom alone. The tightness and rattling in my chest as mucus builds up and periodically shakes free. The scratchiness of my throat and esophagus from months of congestion, coughing, nausea, and post nasal drip slowly makes me feel less temporal and more ephemeral, astral. The pain in my head, from inflammation and congestion waxes and wanes and sometimes I am graceful and sometimes I am as mean as a snake. Emmeline is doing way better than Drew and I, but she’s also much more physically active and has a much better diet (thank you 2.5 years of breastfeeding and counting!) and lifestyle I think (adults really should make time to play more). Night time gives me space to see these moments for the beauty and sweetness they do contain. Spending so much time preparing, deeming, and planning had given me a guilty urge to “be here now,” to take her in completely, to stop worrying so much about the future. Time will pass without any help from me. ❤️ #art #paint #creatrix #artistrising #Healing #home #homeiswherethestorybegins #integrate #Iowa #KeepItWild #LifeDeathLife #mama #MedicineWoman #motherhood #sisterhood #peace #postpartum #rest #rebirth #selfcare #selflove #shadowwork #spiritual #StoryTelling #Tarot #wildwomanrising #wisewomantradition #wisewomanrising #witch #witchrising (at Fairfield, Iowa)
