I don't condone the way he treats Jaskier at all, I'm a huge Jask lover but I can understand his thought process?

Taking episode 6 for example..

Before Jaskier shows up Geralt first gets told that no matter how hard he tries, he and Yen will never work out, in so many words. Then Yennifer blows up at him about the wish. Considering that Geralt held such a fascination for Yen, almost bordering on love (although he probably didn't realise this until she left) to hear that he has no future with him would probably anger him, and confuse him with why.

Then Jaskier shows up. We can all agree that while his intentions were good with trying to cheer Geralt up, he could of probably read the situation better and/or learned from experience to heed Geralts temper. But he didn't.

Assuming that Geralt is lost in thought thinking about Yen, to have Jaskier's (classified as irritating in Geralt's head) voice piercing through... well if someone who I had decided bugged me tried to cheer me up without noticing how upset I was about losing someone who meant a lot to me... I'd be pretty pissed off..

Geralt's words were cruel. No debating that. But I've often traced all my problems back to one person and blamed them for everything before realising I was at fault as well. Geralt's slow with emotions so by the time he calmed down and realised his mistake, Jaskier was long gone.

I'm not absolving Geralt of fault. He made a mistake and lost his temper but lost in the moment he thought he was right. Like we all do I suppose.

I don't know what's supposed to happen next season.. I'm only on the second book but they better make Geralt try to find Jaskier to apologize. Jaskier deserves that much. The one thing I can't forgive from that scene is that Geralt didn't follow after him, so I want some of that please.

I have seen people talking about some other hurtful things Geralt did in episode 6. Not waking him up before going to the dragon, the line about being a better travel companion etc.. I'd like to think the whole better companion thing was a joke.. after 20 odd years it'd be nice to think they have some kind of back and forth banter like in the books and that with this it just hit too close to home for Jaskier and Geralt honestly didn't mean to hurt him.

In some odd way I guess.. I see Geralt's reactions and thoughts in episode 6 as very very human. At least by comparing them to my own thought processes.

I'd go into some of the not so nice things Geralt did in earlier episodes but I feel like this was the episode that turned everyone against him..

Sorry for the rant! I just, through figuring out his character better I felt the need to defend him slightly against the hate. We all love Jaskier, precious being he is, and he deserves a kinder treatment next season but so does Geralt deserve a kinder treatment from the fandom..

Favourite character: Yennefer! (if this were the books then my answer would be different lol) Funniest character: Jaskier/Dandelion and sometimes Geralt lmao Best-looking character: Geralt? I mean they’re all HIGHLY attractive let’s be real... 3 favourite ships: Geralt x Yennefer, Geralt x Yennefer, && Geralt x Yennefer  Least favourite character: Emhyr (I know he hasn’t appeared yet but fuck him) Least favourite ship: Geralt x Jaskier I guess??? Geralt x Triss???? Reason why I watch it: It’s fun and exciting and MAGIC!! and FOUND FAMILY TROPE!! Why I started watching it: I loved the witcher games, so they made me excited about the series and I just finished the books recently so!! (I cannot wait for my heart to be broken in the future!!)

Literally can’t see/hear the word organic without having war flashbacks. This was such a throwback and what the two of you went through is so wild it sounds fake. The whole PT thing was so surreal.... What an actual mess it was, damn! ��
