I’m so excited to read more about Skyfall! It’s got me asking so many questions about the universe such as why did MC get her memories wiped & why were they given to Reader. I wonder if there was a specific reason why Reader was chosen or if it was all random. I’m just envisioning the Reader’s inner conflict of whether she should tell MC about her past lives and help her remember Sylus. Would this MC even fall in love with him in this lifetime or will their relationship become something else entirely 🤔
Damn.... you just gave me ideas, I hadn't considered that part yet. Let me answer your questions first:
— Why did mc's memories get wiped and why were they given to reader?
The game has established that mc died a couple of times while she was young due to the experiments, but it hasn't given a reason as to why she forgets everything every time she died in those experiments. That lack of information allows for us to give whichever reason we want as we write and because I was playing god I decided "Well, since she's gonna forget, what if we move the memories to someone else" the reasoning behind it is that everything comes full circle and things aren't easily erased. The memories, in this instance, work the same way. It's the whole "you take from the dirt (drink and eat, build things) and then you go back to the dirt (die and get burried/cremated)", or you know, the whole "you die and turn into stardust" come-from-the-universe-and-go-back-to-the-universe type thing.
— Was there a specific reason as to why it had to be reader?
Again, I was playing god and said "you shall be my victim for the angst," a luck of draw, "gods favorite" in the worst way, if you will.
There's already the conflicts– Bridges, let's call them bridges.
The first bridge is "why won't he say anything?" that one connects to "should I tell him?" so once you cross the first one, you have the second one right in front, it's a bridge that must be crossed. The next one is "is the end game Sylus x reader or Sylus x mc?" and let me tell you right now that I have no idea which one is end game. I got the idea to include one of the boys to cause even more angst, but then that adds more combinations into the end game question.
