I'm...not? I'm not defending AI? Did you even read my post? I said I agree 100% fuck AI, GenAI is genuinely bad and a corrosive force on society.
AT THE SAME TIME, there are ACTUAL PEOPLE who identify as robots, so-called robotgender or robotkin, who are being targeted by 'clanker', 'wireback', 'rust-bucket', and other such similar slurs. Robotgenderedness, being tied to the Tumblr MOGAI movement and the concept of 'xenogender', which dates all the way back to 2014, makes this use of the term, when used against actual people, a transsexist, queer-phobic slur.
Not only that, but 'clanker' is pointedly just a 'socially acceptable' way to say the N-word, and 'wireback' is the same except with an anti-Mexican slur.
Not to mention those YouTube shorts that have been coming out recently where people like Stanzi have used terms like 'clanker' as an excuse to role-play actual 1950s-era anti-Black racism in the context of 'Clankers in the year 2050'. That's not even close to acceptable. That's just using the current moment as an excuse to pantomime actual, historical systemic racism.
GenAI is horrible. GenAI is absolutely horrible. But that doesn't justify, fucking any of this.
