Platonic / non-sexual relationships:

Alexei: John is her daughter’s bestie, he can’t think of him that way. He's cool with what they do and swears that if he ever were to sleep with another man again, John would be his first choice (no offense Bucky), but given the circumstances, he rather just supports whatever they have going on. “LGBTQ+ RIGHTS, AM I RIGHT?!”

Sometimes he’s the one that makes the awkward question about their relationship that no one dares to address yet (like if they are in love or if their arrangement means they all sleep with each other too. Great question, Alexei, thank you so much).

Extremely friendly with John to the point to make him uncomfortable (dw, he manages). Provides emotional support and snacks after their gatherings (iykwim), he also gives him hugs when he seems to be down. John pretends he doesn’t like them.

Yelena: John is the older brother she didn’t ask for. Rage bait him a lot. I headcanon her as ace, there was this one time they all were joking and someone made a comment about them kissing and both pretended to puke.

She helps him to stay grounded. There was this time John wasn’t feeling like himself after a night with ABB, she reached him first to see everything was okay. She has John’s trust, so he’s more open with her.

She doesn’t mind their relationship. She teases them a lot about it, tho. Her target is always John since he’s so easy to tease and his reactions are always funny to see.

Now, the situationship with no labels, kinda weird if they think of it too much but beneficial for John:

Bob: He’s the one with all the dom/sub knowledge. He makes sure everyone is on the same page when they try new things (he takes requests too). He likes to plan things. Sometimes without John’s knowledge. He makes sure to run it with John, of course, to see if he’s okay with what they want to do to him. Sometimes difficult since John has yet to overcome his shame. Excuse him, he’s new in all this sleeping with more than one person at the same time. He’s getting used to it, there’s progress.

There was that time, during breakfast, when Bob noticed John’s hair was getting longer than he usually keeps it. He ran his fingers through his air, John got self-conscious.

“Yeah, I know I need a trim”

“Don’t” Bob says, yanking his air a little without thinking. John yelped surprised.

“Careful, Bobby. Are you trying to get me hard?”

Bob, surprised, tiled his head as John tried to laugh it off, “Do you like it?”

John cleaned his throat and blushed a little.

“Ocassionally”

“Got it. I will remember that” Bob promised with a soft kiss on his lips.

He’s gentle with John during sex, he often rescues him from the other’s mistreatment, offering comfort when they overstimulate him or edge him for too long.

He likes making out with John a lot, he likes how responsive John gets on days he’s being teased without an actual relief. Bob is a teaser. Also he knows what he likes and he makes sure to ask for it, John is not used to that yet but loves how blunt Bob can be sometimes.

John follows him, whenever there’s Bob, John is often there too. They enjoy each other's company and they share an intimacy that goes beyond the sexual one. Bob adores his rambling and he's the first one to point out when John is being an asshole, keeps him on check. He's not afraid to confront him when he's in a mood (and John listens and tone it down, good boy!).

Ava: She follows the vibe and she’s always enthusiastic to try new things (Bob teaches her a thing or two).

They do bicker a lot even in bed. If Bob is a teaser, she’s a mean teaser. Once she discovered she could make John do whatever she wanted in bed, she never missed an opportunity to boss him around. When John gets too deep in the correct headspace, he doesn't even talk back when she’s being demanding, he’s just so eager to please her and she loves that.

She’s also a denier. John would be between her legs eating her out and Ava would edge herself for the sake of seeing John whining whenever she pushes him away. She enjoys John’s distraught, he would be kissing her tights waiting patiently until she lets him back. Sometimes he begs to let her cum and Ava enjoys it way too much to let him put his mouth back on her cunt that easily. She loves seeing him desperate to please her (thanks @dickytwister for the idea 10/10).

John would go to her when he’s horny and she would get him hot and bothered to just be like “Welp, I’m bored already. Bye” on purpose.

And of course, she pegs him (the first time when there were just the two of them, Ava’s idea. After John overcomes his embarrassment, Ava frequently waits her turn to top him too when they all team up on him).

They can be very vanilla sometimes.

Despite bickering a lot, they are often together and Ava uses John’s personal space as it was her own. She seeks physical comfort on him and John is pleased to comply. You can find her snuggling closer to John or taking a seat on his lap during movie night when there’s no more room on the couch.

Bucky: John would be constantly trying to get his approval, which bothers Bucky to the point to get them where they are now. He regularly tests what he can get away with, just to see if John submits or punches him in return. He’s vocal with his mistreatments, always teasing, always reminding him of his submission, always praising him for it.

Bucky started as an observer first, curious to see what the fuzz was about. John can be a brat sometimes, especially with Bucky, and when that happens putting John back in his place comes easily for him.

Like that time, when in addition to just watching he started to participate in a more kind of active role, giving orders. That day John was having an attitude. Bob was kissing John’s neck trying to get his clothes off as Bucky’s command, John decided to run his mouth and mocks Bucky for being a coward and not doing it himself or saying things like “is that you being commanding? Big scary dom?” and “Your dick can get hard anymore or what?”. Until Bucky had enough of that and grabbed him by the jaw, hard, making his lips pout, to tell him to be quiet. That shut John up (it would've been easier if John just admitted he was feeling neglected, unwanted by the person he wants his approval the most. But yeah… brat).

With time he gets his hands on John and learns he can be rough with him, at John’s request, and gentle if he feels like it. He always checks on John when they go rough, asking if he’s okay or needs something.

Bucky cares about John but he also keeps his distance, drives John crazy but they are dealing with that. It’s complicated.

And that's all I got. I'm thinking of some angst for them because I'm me and I think their situation is complicated and there are some feelings there but not everyone feels the same????? Ideas are there, I just need to think about them a little bit more.

This after she confronts Bucky. Bucky becomes distant, I guess he is still processing the whole deal and he can’t really understand how it is so easy for them to just accept they share John in a way that it’s convenient but also super complicated to explain to others ( I feel John has this issue too but John is so used to be judged by now that he is ignoring that voice in his head that tells him he’s like a whore for sleeping with more than one, but they are not having that conversation yet! They will get there eventually, I need to think more of it).

One would’ve believed that after all he’s seen, this would be the less weird thing to explain but human relations are so complex and after Ava tells him she loves John, he wonders if he loves him too. He cares for him, for sure, he learned to understand where he’s coming from and empathize with his decisions and mistakes; but now he has Ava telling him somehow she and Bob came with an understanding of their relationship with John and they are okay with that, he wonders how he fits in the equation.

In the confrontation Ava also says:

“You are being cruel with your uncertainty. You must have known from the moment you meet him he worships the path you walk on. He cares for you, I know you care for him.”

Followed with:

“Break his heart if you must but make a decision soon”

That sounds like an ultimatum. Ava, coming in terms with his feelings for John, becomes protective of him.

And Bucky feels like shit after that confrontation.

He knows John looks after him despite everything, it made him uncomfortable at first. How eager John seeks his approval, his recognition. At first he thought it had to do with the title of being named Captain America, meaning he was worthy of it if Bucky said something to him, like a direct approval from Steve himself perhaps; but then John lost the little, John lost everything but his desire to be recognized by Bucky. He wondered if it was for the idolization of his name, sometimes Bucky didn’t feel like the man they all idolize and deep down he hates John might see him as something he doesn’t feel like he is.

He wonders if he loves John, never really thought of it if he’s honest. Now he sees his mistake. He knew love, he wasn't unfamiliar with it; he felt it for Steve for many years, he still does when he thinks of him, and later, he felt it for Sam.

Ava is right, he cares for John but, love?

He’s not there — yet.

Will he ever be?

He feels like a jerk, realizing now his mistake. Lust overtook all his rationality. He should’ve known what it meant to indulge John, to not set boundaries, to get involved in the first place.

If Ava and Bob already came to terms with his feelings for John, and John feels the way about them, then there’s no place for him there.

And if Ava feels the need to confront him, it only means his actions have affected John.

He knows there’s an uncomfortable talk he must have with John sooner than later, and he knows he’s breaking his heart.

He hates that he could’ve prevented it.

Wbk Bucky has no romantic feelings for John (yet?). Like I said, it’s complicated. This has potential for angst. The way I see it John has a crush on Bucky, Bucky isn’t there yet. The uncomfortable talk happens and John’s heart is broken but he LIES saying it’s not a big deal, he has no feelings for Bucky (more lies) and Bucky trusts John is being honest (a big mistake, buddy) so they kinda continue sleeping together. He isn’t comfortable joining Ava and Bob anymore when they plan something for John and John can hide his feelings for Bucky as long as Ava and Bob don’t ask many question or don’t see him Bucky fucking him silly.
