Summary:

After serving his time in Special Ops, Bucky moves to a two-horse town, deep in the mountains. He buys an old log cabin in a large clearing surrounded by acres of tall, thick trees and dark woods- the only place for miles up there.

As he acquaints himself with the locals, he learns about the small town’s weird obsession with wolves and all the supernatural rumors, specifically around the area of his cabin.

Bucky thinks them all a little off-kilter until peculiar occurrences around his new home piques his interest enough to find out more.

And that’s when he learns that apparently werewolves are a very real thing.

Pity that Bucky doesn’t share the town’s caution when it comes to the woods and his cabin.

This ‘werewolf’ devoured his pizza and left the crust, how scary can he really be?

He's angry because people aren't meant to go without touch and affection; they were never meant to hurt like this. He was never supposed to forget what another person's touch feels like.

Sam realizes after years of coping and being strong, that he is in fact an entire mess. Bucky is there in two seconds flat to comfort him.

Bucky falls asleep as well, his head resting on top of Sam’s as they sleep peacefully in the common area. Steve finds them like that the next day and smiles softly as he goes to get some coffee for Tony and himself. 

"Rough day," Sam asked, walking into the bathroom.

Bucky was easing his sore body into the steaming bath. His ribs were black and purples, and he was sporting a hell of a shiner.

"Got thrown through the window of a truck," he grumbled, "You?"

Sam grinned.

"Staying off the ground is kind of my mo, if you haven't noticed," Sam chukled, pulling his own shirt over his head. Despite his words, there was a line of bruising along his own ribs and his shoulders ached, from being jerked against the straps of his wings.

"Smartass," Bucky grumbled, settling into the water, head leaning back into the edge, "You getting in or you just gonna stand there?"

"Aww baby," Sam teased, stepping out of his boxers and jeans, "You need someone to wash your hair?"

Bucky popped open an eye.

"Keep up that sass Wilson, and my hair is the only thing you'll get to wash," Bucky grumbled.

Sam chuckled, sliding into the tub, sighing contently. The hot water was a god send.

"You love my sass and you wouldn't have me any other way," Sam laughed, finding Bucky's ankle under the water and tapping it affectionately.

Bucky grinned.
