Hector is sent back in time, in what he thinks is a straightforward quest to prevent his home village from being destroyed. But the person responsible is someone he grew up alongside, and the second time around he has started noticing things about her that flew completely over his head initially. Maybe life in the village wasn't so idyllic for everyone. Maybe there's even more going on here than he realized.

Decided to move updates to Monday instead of Tuesdays. Also I’m going to break the 30k word mark this week by the looks of it.

The last update for a while, but I actually did post a chapter before this, I just didn't link it on tumblr.

The dress code is Cleopatra, venomous as the asp that bit her. It is fingers heavy with gold rings and still-beating hearts. The dress code no longer requires hobbling oneself in delicate skirts and kitten heels. It now allows capes and swords, hunting boots and shit-kicking boots and kinky boots; or whatever vaguely wild and threatening outfits make you feel at home in your office-cum-Temple. The dress code is not about quiet passive-aggressive whisperings behind closed office doors. It is about screaming rage in the echoing hallways until those who have always stood in the way of your true power quiver and foam at the mouth. The dress code is no longer Business Casual. Please let your employees know.

He held it tightly to him, cradled close, even as she held her arms open to receive it. It pulsed in his great hands like a living heart, sometimes stronger, sometimes weaker.
