I subbed to /r cozy places to feed my divine love of Hygge. I've always had a deep desire for a cozy home and my grandparents generation believed in that as well. By the time my parents were adults they had crafted grand homes just brimming with cozy, warm spaces in order to forget the lean days of the depression and the War.
I read Sunset and Better Homes & Gardens as religiously as I read Seventeen magazine. And my grandma had me designing my own interiors at a young age with magazine clippings and paint swatches.
So now at my middling age I realized that cozy, comfortable spaces are merely a symptom of wanting to be layered in protective warmth, safe from mysterious sources of cuts and bruises, and walked into a secure fortress where no missionary or random person would ever dare knock or show up unannounced.
