And he has his knife on him now, within reach, in case he looses his weapons, which was one way Tyrian tried to deal with Qrow
So Elm using the grapple to yank him forward was foreshadowing? Because if Tyrian tries a similar move then Ren probably has a counter for it.Â
A little idea based off that old Silver!Antarc, Gold!Phos, arm fusing dragon... what if the two played a game like that? One of them using their metal to form a basic or random shape, and the other having to add detail to turn it into something, and then laughing at the terrible abomination it ends up like. "No, it's meant to be a little shiro." "Well it still looks like a snowdrift to me" "Everything looks like snow to you!!"

I wanted to ask Nauticis Mille and just basic questions I don't seem to see elsewhere (unless I'm blind). So are the ships purely professional, do they have free time and full personalities, relationships (friendships i mean - dating i doubt since they are built), do the humans know they are alive? Do people see them as giant mecka, or is it a personification? How do they even move under water, and where can people even be when boarded other than in their hat/helmet/head?
1. They do have personalities! But they’re not created with their personalities fully developed. They start out on basic, “robotic” default behaviour and with time, experiences and mostly interactions with humans and other ships, their personality is built up. Concordia, for example, has a really fleshed out personality because from ever since she was first activated, her pilot, Ryosei, dedicated a lot of his time to talk and bond with her. Titanic, on the other hand, spent so much time isolated underwater from the sinking (which was only 5 days after her launch) that her personality is still on default.
Although they don’t feel physically tired, they have free time. There are days in which they’re not scheduled for anything besides normal training, which gives them and their pilot pretty much a free day. Those free days mostly come at random, since their schedules are created every day in the very early morning. On a normal busy day, they get free time at night when all activities and missions set for the day are done and everyone’s preparing to sleep.Â
As for relationships,yes! Since they work in squads and their personality develops with experience and interaction, the ships are actually encouraged to bond with each other. Of course, some rivalries might bloom (ex: Olympic and Mauretania), but others can form pretty close friendships (ex: Concordia and Disney). As for dating, none of the ships have data on romantic love, so they’re incapable of feeling such thing! All of their relationships are purely platonic.
People are very aware that they’re “alive”- after all, they’re created with an AI in their system. Plus, a good bond between a pilot and their ship is always welcome since it can result in a much better performance in battle and such.
2. They’re seen as mecha/robots, yes!
3. They don’t go underwater, they actually hover a few meters above it through turbines located on their feet and back (modern ships can go a lil higher, older models stay closer to water level) OR they stay, at maximum, at waist level. Any more than that and they can end up sinking.

4. The control chamber inside their head is the only place people can go in safely. During maintance, when the ship is deactivated,people can crawl inside their structure to fix things or check for any smaller problems, but when they’re running normally, only the control chamber is accessible.
