#winter fair

Today's KAITO module of the day is:

Maisie finished her shift and changed at the diner before heading out to meet Carter and his family at the town winter fair.  It was that crisp cold that you needed layers to protect against but somehow always felt a sort of comfortable and just made her crave hot chocolate - despite how many cups of it she had served across the day.

She looked around as she reached the agreed meeting point, spotting Jess and Charlie before anyone else.  Heading over they were quickly joined by the rest and Maisie worked her way around as she said hello to everyone, ending with Carter.  “Hey,” she smiled as she tugged her gloves up further.  “How was your day?” She could feel eyes watching them and a she really just wanted to grab him and leave everyone else, after all they had both worked hard at getting back to where they had been previously with their friendship without anyone else interfering.  “Seen any good rides you want to go on?”

A magical evening at the Winter Fair. I mainly bought things from my students, including some homemade earrings from a 7th grader, a hand drawn and screen printed onesie from a 6th grader, and a mystery book from the 8th graders. I also bought some sauerkraut that one of our local families makes, and a playsilk. I really wanted food from the food truck, but the wait was sooo long. So I stopped at McDonald’s, where the wait was also incredibly long for much worse food. Much regret.
