i still freak out majorly over elliott. running into hot goalies has always been an issue. the la series wasnt so bad to me personally other than the “oh my god they /have/ to win this.” using scudoughty was not great lol
mhmm. i thought todd was a good coach and did what he could with what he had, but a lot of those decisions in ‘14 really pissed me off. i didn’t think he deserved to be fired for that (come on the vlasic absence was huge) but last year was a disaster. he could have done better. the man wanted burish and brown on a line ffs
I RAMBLE TOO MUCH SORRY
if elliott gives the same performance again as he did in game one, and/or the blues switch up their gameplan, this could definitely become a series. i read that hitch will potentially start allen in game 4, which could either prove beneficial for us or be the curse of the backup goalie
la’s defense was terribad this year haha (didn’t they have mcnabb on the second pair at one point?). i mainly was freaking out over that series because it’s the kings and they’re always dangerous even when they aren’t. but yeah...we ate their d alive haha
one of our main problems in years past has for sure been our bottom six. in the playoffs that we’ve dominated, it’s primarily been the big guys showing up--which is fine, until they go cold, and then you get shitshows like 2010 and 2011 (rip stanchion)
losing vlasic was huge, although i find it hard to believe that’s the only reason we lost. to me, it seemed just an all-around meltdown, no mental strength left in that one. and icing people that have no right being iced. i think todd would have had a good chance getting to the same place we are now with this roster, but i do really like deboer as well. i’m sad for him that he’s in the cesspool of edmonton
