@papermonkeyism's wingbean creature - sparkle edition.
I drew it because I can, and I have exactly zero regrets.
I really like these funky lil' wingbeans critters that it's a shame they do not exist in real life. Anyways here's my oc Vespera interacting with them a fellow "cat" with wings.
The Wingbeans belong to @papermonkeyism
so i sketched one of @papermonkeyism's wingbeans
I like to think of their snoots (used in social behaviors, so probably very touch-sensitive) as being flexible like a horse's upper lip and used in much the same way as a quasi-manipulator, which would reveal the liddle teefs
deceptively long neck like a bird? yes
feet scales based on an armadillo because mammal.
I also drew it with a chicken butt to go with the chicken legs. this animal is shaped like a butternut squash and I love it.
they probably use their primaries to baffle prey after pouncing, like a hawk? gotta use those feathers for something
anyway paper I hope you like it :> thanks for the art inspiration
New bean!
Not a final design yet, but I kinda like it. A pointy one! Gonna fiddle with it some more later, but it's bedtime again, so it'll have to wait.

Totally unrelated, but I think I might have figured out a proper framing device/setting for Wingbeans in the case I might want to make a project out of them.
I kinda want to make a project out of them.
Could be a zine.
Hlep?
Suddenly felt like wingbean.
Here, have a Verty going somewhere. Probably shenanigans.
Alright, since the brain weasels appear to be fixating on the wingbean project idea, might as well indulge it for now. Sometimes it's just best not to fight the ADHD.
Anyway.
So what would the project be set in?
Premise would basically be "here's a bunch of wingbeans, and we'll follow their lives and all sorts of shenanigans they get into as animals being animals".
I think I can rule out "these selected individuals are being released into the wilds, and we'll follow their lives afterwards", because as fun as all the drama and situations of wild living without human intervention would be, I think the wingbeans' design is a bit too domesticated in vibes for that. Death, injury and disease with no medical intervention sounds like a downer for something specifically designed to be cute and funny, you know. I don't want to kill my 'beans, I like their designs too much.
So it would be some kind of zoo/rescue thing then? What kind? I don't think just general zoo would suffice, since having only 4-20 animals, all of the same kind sounds like a lousy visitor experience. So a rescue sanctuary thing?
I like the idea of having an excuse to add more 'beans along the way (I have ideas for character designs...), so being some sort of rescue would at least support that, but would it be just rescue, or would there be some other purpose as well? Are they just rescuing, or do they have some other goal, like a breeding program or something? Some sort of research facility? If so, what would they be researching?
At least I don't want it to be a case of "these are all pets owned by a private person" because A, that would end up a hoarding situation really fast and B, I don't want to design a human character as their owner. I want to draw 'beans, not people!
How 'beans? Where 'beans??
