Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an lore-heavy epic set in a world full of swords, magick and demons, with a heavy Viking influence. I recently started replaying it as a Breton Druid, and, climbing up the hill to the main hub city of Windrun it struck me.

The graphics. 

They are breathtaking, despite being released almost four years ago. I don’t have a supercomputer, and the settings are somewhere around “Medium”, yet it’s the attention to detail that make the game truly immersive. Even though that’s a word thrown around alot these days, playing this game gives it true meaning.

It’s as if you can almost smell it; the cold breeze coming down from the mountains, the smoke from dragon’s fire, the dust from the haunted crypts, the meadhalls and stables.
