✘ That he isn’t weak. I understand that a good deal of blame for this one lies on Intelligent Systems themselves, after how much of Soren’s character development they centered entirely around Ike in Radiant Dawn, but the Fire Emblem fandom at large has the most inexplicable tendency to see and portray Soren as a fragile tsundere waif who would just fall apart without his beefy bara bestie.

While it’s true that he thinks the world of Ike and relies on him for support, Soren to me is the absolute farthest thing from weak. Soren survived Branded life on his own for goddesses only know how long, he’s made it through two continental wars, he’s probably the most powerful spellcaster on Tellius this side of Sephiran, and his sass is as sharp as his spells.

The guy is absolutely capable on his own. Ike just makes things easier, physically and psychologically.

☯ As most FE fans know, Soren is a pretty beloved fixture in the franchise, and with good reason. Amusingly enough, I actually hated him the first time I played through Path of Radiance (note: teen me was an asshole who couldn’t comprehend moral grays for fear of his head exploding), but in time I came to love him for all the same reasons as everyone else: his ruthlessness, his complexity, his sass, his wonderful hair. Where Lucia I loved from the moment I recruited her, Soren grew on me slowly, like the world’s most critical vine.

What’s your age?: Duo-deuces  What’s your current job?: Searching for one, game designer/artist/composer What are you talented at?: Um... I’d like to think I make decent if somewhat overdone on concept art, and I’m actually pretty good at music composition. Just don’t ask me to do physical work because I have terrible stamina. (Diametric to Skrimir.) Though apparently my cooking is really good when I put my mind to it. (I got two mock-proposals from my bbq, if that’s any consolation.) What is a big goal you are working toward (or have already achieved)?: I’d like to get into a game company, and get my tabletop rpg done. Maybe transfer my rpg over to the video game realm if I do get into a game company. What’s your aesthetic?: Pastel colors are very common for me. Sometimes a bit too much. (笑) Mainly because saturated colors hurt my eyes. Do you collect anything?: dust Do reaction images count? I have a ton of those (though sadly lacking in character-relevant ones...). Though I also collect job classes for my rpg. What’s a topic you always talk about?: my $25 fee tabletop rpg, languages, and various sciences. (If I wasn’t going for game design, my next picks were culinary arts and biochem engineering.) What’s a pet peeve of yours?: Bad expectation management. (i.e. don’t fault me for not doing something well when I’m not good at it, and don’t be surprised if I attempt something else if I think it fits better.) Also, incredibly badly formed arguments. It started with a few light drops that dampened the air, nothing she couldn’t shake off, then right in the middle of lunch the sky opened up. There was a mad scramble among the mercenary group for cover as the rain came down. The shewolf stumbled into the nearest tent she could reach and shook the rainfall from her heavy winter pelt. At this point I’d probably say like… A Link Between Worlds ? I feel like people thought it was great when it came out but they forgot about it so quickly, whereas it’s still one of my top favorites, possibly better than even Ocarina of Time or Wind Waker. I honestly don’t understand why it’s never listed up there with other ‘greater’ Zelda titles

T: Best game memory?

I’d say anytime when I was a kid and got to watch my brother play OoT is very nostalgic to me, but let’s see… more specifically, during spring break in fifth grade I spent the week at my grandma’s with my two cousins. Honestly the three of us really got along back then and we had fun no matter what, but that specific time we had the GameCube and Twilight Princess and we played it non-stop. We each had a file and we could play half an hour each before passing the controller to someone else (unless we were in the middle of a dungeon in which case we were allowed to finish it). We pretty much just played through the whole game together and watched each other play through the game again. Also, my younger cousin didn’t actually play, she was too scared of monsters to play through the story, but she wanted her own file so she could run around with Epona at the end during her 30 minutes, so she had me and her brother play through the story to get her there. I don’t even remember what made it so special honestly, we just had an amazing time playing through it over and over all together
