People are totally within their rights to dislike characters especially ones within their own fandom - I’ve always been pretty open about the fact that I don’t really care much for Goro Akechi, but that’s never hampered me from interacting with Akechi blogs or trying to treat their Akechi blogs just the same as I would any other, regardless of my own feelings on the character.
What boggles my mind is when someone dislikes a character - makes that dislike quite clear to the point where it’s affecting interactions - to me it’s just, if this character is so despicable and bad to you, why are you following the blogs of people who roleplay as them or write as them? I try not to be overly sensitive to things but when I get the sense someone really doesn’t like Ryuji or is using our interactions/their muse as an outlet for their dislike of the character, it’s honestly kind of hurtful.
You’re allowed to dislike Ryuji for whatever reason - I don’t expect everybody who plays the game to adore him and I probably get a little excessive with my posts gushing about my boy. I guess I just feel protective over him because I’ve always felt since the beginning, that he has had this portion of the fanbase who have this unwarranted dislike for him. My job isn’t to convince you to like him or that he’s the greatest character ever.
