In the Mega Man series, the main protagonist's primary weapon, alongside the Mega Buster, is his Variable Weapons System, which lets him possess a multitude of weapons on hand at the same time, as well as copy those belonging to his enemies. Typically, he does after defeating enemy Robot Masters, though some media show that he doesn't have to wait until then. However, in one game, he actually was able to copy the ability of a boss enemy; not just that, but the final boss at that!
In Mega Man II for the Game Boy, the final boss is, of course, Dr. Wily as he pilots his newest Wily Machine, and like usual, Mega Man beats him. However, in a cutscene that plays after beating Wily, Mega Man manages to shoot a giant missile similar to the one used by the Wily Machine in its third phase, meaning that Mega Man was able to copy this ability.
What makes this fascinating is that while this isn't the only time Mega Man has copied a final boss' ability (in Marvel vs Capcom, he copied the mutant Onslaught's Magnetic Shockwave, despite said character being organic), this is the only instance of this happening in canon. This "Wily Missile" or whatever gets no attention despite it being the most unique ability in canon, not because of its delivery, but because of its source.

Mega Man Episode 10: Dr. Wily Part 4
Beat Mega Man 9 Today…
I’ve been stuck fighting this Wily Machine for a couple days now.
But finally the battle is won… that just leaves 10, 11, and “Megaman & Bass” for me to beat!
But man this Wily Machine was a PIECE OF WORK!
It’s up there difficulty wise, although I had no E-tanks and was low on Weapon energy, so it’s not MM7 Final Boss level of difficulty, but it’s somewhere up there… Although tbh I think I had more fun with 7’s Final boss… The weakness was more fun to use…
