Like. Here's this silly little guy. He exists in this one art style. Now here's that same silly little guy but in another, completely different art style. It's still the same guy. He looks different but still recognisable as Silly Little Guy.

Now he's in a third style closer to the first one, but there are little differences in how he's portrayed. Maybe his hair curls a little differently. Maybe his nose is a little more hooked. Maybe it's straighter. Maybe he wasn't drawn with one.

Maybe his hairline is implied rather than shown with a distinct line drawn above the brows. Maybe it's a bunch of little, zig-zaggy lines. Maybe his hair looks distinctly fluffier in one but spicier in another. Maybe he has more detailed eyes. Maybe it's literally just two dots.

Maybe he has a heftier body build, maybe he's the definition of the word Twink. Maybe he has big muscles. Maybe he's leaner.

So many different ways to draw the same guy but it's still very much the same guy. Or girl. Or dragon, if it's applicable.
