The sun glinted fiercely from the chrome from the Cadillac’s front bumper. It caused William to raise a hand to fend off the obtrusive glint, for the beam felt as if it’d go directly through his head. While he stood, hand raised and one eye squinted shut, he noticed movement on the sidewalk. He turned, temporarily free from the sun’s rays, and watched Samantha walk past a shop. He didn’t know what the store sold, not that it mattered. All that mattered was he synced up with her once again and he could speak to her. 

With a quick, cautionary look both ways the man proceeded to cross the street. His hand went up, again, however this was greeting. He thought to call her name, raise awareness of his presence but the familiar electrical sensation radiated throughout his body. The watch he usually wore during his travels burned in his pants pocket, as he had to conceal it from the world given he was in 1934 and people wouldn’t understand such technology until 2015. 

William glance down at his pocket, retrieving his watch only to see the giant “1″ on the screen before he was plucked from this time. The ejection came three hours premature, which caused him to temporarily set aside his annoyance for not speaking to his beloved and fueling a growing worry that something might be wrong with his machine.
