Background: Willow grew up with a silver spoon in her mouth. Anything she wanted was always hers within seconds. Of course, this meant that none of it really meant anything at all. She never had a real boyfriend or girlfriend, because she gets bored rather quickly. She took a few years off of school to travel around the world on a cruise ship. She always loved the water, and the freedom it gave her. She ended up going back to school, but realized she didn’t have a single idea what she wanted to major in. So, she took random classes and went to a lot of parties. A lot more parties than she can remember, she is sure of that.

One morning everything changed, when she went on her morning swim. The tide got stronger by the second, but she wasn’t too worried about it. Her entire life she has been untouchable, why would this be any different? At least, that’s what she thought up until that moment. The tide pulled her under, and she didn’t have control of her own body anymore. Full of panic, she felt herself pulled under. No matter how hard she tried, or how much she struggled, she couldn’t do anything about it.

When she woke up, she was in the hospital. Suddenly everything was different. That sense of control she had over her life was gone. She decided to work towards med school, because she realized that doctors had the most control of all. Control of life or death. She tried to get herself back in the water, but the PTSD wouldn’t allow it. She was working harder than she did her entire life, but it still felt like it wasn’t enough. She got into Med School, but she decided to take a small break before she went. She didn’t have it in her to take control of her future anymore. She needed to get her confidence back, and needed to feel like she had all the power in the world.
