Hello fellow Tumblr bloggers, there is something I want to share with you on a personal level. You see, I have well-meaning friends whom I respect point out a few things about Tumblr of which they thought I was unaware. Sister, they ask me, “Why do you have your blog on Tumblr? We are sure you do not agree with some postings on that site.”Â
Of course I too have considered that very matter. So I tell my doubting friends a little story. Once upon a time there lived a man named Willie Sutton. Born in 1901, Willie made his way through life by robbing banks. As legend has it Willie was asked by reporter Mitch Ohnstad why he robbed banks to which Willie replied, “...because that’s where the money is.”Â
Now most of you know I have been in the soul-touching business for 7+ decades; usually one at a time. Now in my mid-90’s I hear of this Tumblr way to reach many souls at one time and it was just too tempting. Finally a way for me to be mostly sedentary and still make a difference.
So that is why I am on Tumblr. I may not be robbing banks like Willie but I do like to rob souls of what holds them back from satisfying, fulfilling lives. So, like Willie might say, I am on Tumblr “…because that’s where the souls are.”Â
It has been brought to my attention that there are perfectly sterile “religious” blog platforms to which I can move my message. In that suggestion I detect some judgment going on about my fellow bloggers. To that I say, “Judge not least ye be judged.” As always I welcome your opinions and commentary.Â

This line, spoken by a prostitute that Willie meets and seems happy with, struck a knife right in my heart and totally captured my feelings about love and loss. I can't say that I feel much differently about God even after much time has passed.

So the wonderful dukeofbookingham posted a quote about Willie Sutton, who apparently was like the Neal Caffrey of the 20th century. I’d never heard of this guy before, so I went digging.
The Neal Caffrey (White Collar protagonist for the uninformed) analogy looked pretty apt. I’m getting my facts from Wikipedia, but listen to this:
He has dazzling blue eyes.
“He was always a gentleman, witty and non-violent.”
He never carried a loaded gun in case someone could get hurt.
He broke out of maximum security prisons on THREE separate occasions!
But then I looked at his picture. And do you know what I saw?
Remind you of anyone?!
