It was so very like her to shut the world out when she went into thought. Milly had paused halfway up the stairs, on her way to the third floor ---- despite how much she didn’t seem to fit in up there, it was the best place for the dead. A look of utter disappointment came across her features as she, once again, replayed the events that led to her demise. She couldn’t help but think if she had just seen the signs and gotten out of the house, both she and Danny would be alive today. Ultimately, it was frustrating beyond explanation, but more importantly it was beginning to cloud her mind.
