@theyeardecemberedâ | contd. from (x)
a smile. âoh yeah?â he drops her gaze, shakes his head with a chuckle. âyouâre probably better off.â will spends a few moments noodling with the drive belt. as comfortable as he is with her, itâs been a little while and heâs fallen comfortably into a kind of quiet solitude. (as quiet as you can get with eight dogs in the house). people are harder to be with, expect you to say things and be someone. alana less so, perhaps because she knows him well enough that the little stretches of quiet donât bother her. âeh, eventually. i used to, remember?â grease (well, most of it) dirties a cloth that hasnât been white for a while and his hands come out more or less presentable. eyes flick up and he offers a conspiratorial smile. âguess i beat it into myself a little too hard.â he stands from a squat, picks the motor up, looks it over like thatâll do any good.
it clunks down on his work table and he laughs. âi wouldnât wish that on my worst enemy. itâs... thereâs too much dust ân...â will shakes his head, nose wrinkled. âyouâd breathe up so much of it, your lungs would clog.â he grins at her again, over his shoulder as he tries to get the last of the gunk out of the creases in his knuckles and under his nails. âhowâd you know i sleep in here?â he teases, gaze turned back on the task at hand. deciding itâs about as good as itâs gonna get, he tosses the rag onto a pile of dirties that he shouldâve probably put in the wash last week. table creaks a little as he leans back on it, palms flat against rough wood. âyeah,â he says with a sigh, âitâs... it doesnât... bite back the way...â for some reason, he doesnât really wanna say it. like if the word profiler leaves his lips, jack crawford will appear in the doorway and whisk him back to quantico. not that any of it was jackâs fault, mind you, but... he shakes his head, laughs again: a quick, soft thing. âno, itâs all the rage these days, havenât you heard?â he gestures in a little circle in front of his face. âgrunge is coming back. or... punk, i dunno.â
@eisiramdeusâ is assaulting me with hurtful allegations that my newest OC is a floridian, so Iâm here to publicily declare, once and for all, that he is, in fact-----
â i canât lose you again. â ( for will if youâd like? c: )
I swallow hard when he says it, because it lands heavier than he knows. Again. Sometimes it's nice to know I'm not the only one still carrying the weight of what happened. My chest feels tight, the way it did back in the hospital when everyone kept telling me I was safe and my body refused to believe them. I look at him and for a second all I can see is the basement, our childhood, the way his voice kept breaking through the dark when nothing else could. He never stopped looking for me. Even when I was right there, even when I wasnât really me.
âIâm still here,â I say, quieter than I mean to, like if I say it too loud itâll stop being true. "He's not going to get me." I donât tell him how scared I am that something inside me is still broken, or how sometimes it feels like the Upside Down left fingerprints on my ribs. I donât tell him that losing myself was worse than dying. Tonight was a close call but whatever they burned out of me, maybe that sets me free. I just meet his eyes and add, âI'm here and El's here and we're going to have a great summer. At least, after I shower."
" i will not ask you where you came from i would not ask and neither would you honey just put your sweet lips on my lips we should just kiss like real people do "

(Will wasnât in Hawkins at the time because canon sucks but) While writing my last starter, I remembered an arcade game I played one time (Kind of hilarious this thing was just chilling in the basement of some christian rec center but thatâs a story for another time) that was honestly pretty fun. The arcade cabinet Gauntlet came out in 1985 and I honestly think Will should play it with someone, if not all his friends. Itâd be really cute. Itâs literally the first dungeon crawler co-op and you get to play a Thor the Warrior, Thyra the Valkryie, Merlin the Wizard, and Questor the Elf. A literal D&D party. Iâm just imagining him and Mike and Dustin and Lucas hearing about this, the OG party.
Will Solace in Trials of Apollo
@firstlove-thesea continued from [here]
Will sighed and covered his face with his hands, enjoying the darkness behind them. âUh ... perhaps because you tend to hold you liquor better than I do?â It was the truth really, Jack was so used to drinking that surely he had to remember more than he did ... right?Â
All he could do was hope that he hadnât done anything stupid, but seeing as his mind was blank, it was going to prove to be pretty hard to find out. Perhaps things would come back to him later on. Who knew ...Â
