Legit though, once all the memes and spitting on Disney using Mickey has been worked out of peoples system I’m curious what the future will look like for Mickey, or at least the Steamboat version of him. In about 10 more years we’ll have fully made it into the colored cartoons and have Goofy, Pluto and Donald as well. Can you imagine Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network with their own Public Domain version of Mickey and Friends? What would it look like? Would they make new characters for this show to fill in the gaps? Would more emphasis be placed on Mickey working on a boat with his Boss Pete? The possibilities are endless and I can’t wait for the memes to run their course so we can get cracking on this.
