i’ve literally NEVER understood why, when we first see will, he can’t get his boat started, Rikki asks where he’s going, he says Mako Island, AND SHE PROCEEDS TO TELL HIM EXACTLY HOW TO FIX HIS BOAT?? WHY ARE YOU LITERALLY HELPING HIM?
i really want to like will, and in a lot of ways I do, especially after he grows close to Lewis and the girls, but he’s just SO pushy about the mermaid secret (although I will give him credit they gaslighted and manipulated him SO badly to the point where Rikki was openly making fun of him for a very real seemingly traumatic experience he had) and he annoyingly keeps Sophie in his life even though she’s an objectively just really horrible person, even towards him.
i also wish they would have taken away the whole jealousy plot with Zane, him and Zane probably would have gotten along if Zane wasn’t always fighting about Rikki.
there are like glimmers of hope in Will and I can’t bring myself to really hate him because of those fun and sweet moments he had, but he would have benefitted from a lot better writing and maybe a fourth season where he was able to redeem himself more, like Zane. That’s an issue I think both Will AND Ash have is they are very similar in their writing issues and pushiness but where Zane got Season 2 to be redeemed into a better person, Will and Ash never got the potential arc.

Will's character arc would have been so much better if it was about him turning into a merman. I remember watching Season 3 the first time and I LITERALLY thought that's what the first episode was leading up to
