no, will is not automatically getting bumped off mack’s line for a fresh rookie with zero nhl experience (??) or cherny (?????). like. no shade to cherny. but we are not replacing our second top scorer on the team with a guy who spent most of last season in the A. personally i’m hoping for a cherny-celebrini-smith line bc stenberg-celebrini-smith would be a relatively undersized top line, and bc giving misa a winger who can keep up with him is crucial to his development and scoring chances.
no, will is not purely a celebrini merchant. yeah will and mack have incredible chemistry that makes them a danger to play against and a pleasure to watch. but mack needs will, too — does better w him. you could see mack struggling a bit at worlds, even with sidney mf crosby on his wing. why? bc will is not sidnehhh crosbehhh but he can find mack, even without looking. they see the ice the same way etc etc #theirnarry4them but it’s also not untrue. they both benefit from playing w each other and that’s GOOD why is this causing sm angst
