Life Blog: Big Changes
I always knew that college was going to change me. I just always questioned how. Will it make me a better person? Will it make me a cold person? Will I lose my faith in people all together? The answer so far has been very complex. I have been through what seems like very little these past two years, but then I realize I've been through a lot.
First, Improv Nation. These people have become such amazing friends of mine. I live with three other members. I am a Veteran Improvisor now. I am the next Scribe. I am finally being praised for being good at something that used to scare the heck out of me. I feel like I am appreciated when I am around these people. All anyone wants is to feel important. These people make me feel important. I hope they know they are important to me too.
Second, Campus Movie Fest. I am preparing to depart on my trip to the Cannes Film Festival thanks to the amazing film contest CMF. This free contest is allowing me to go to one of the premiere film festivals in the world to see my work shown there. I am so honored and amazed. I dreamed of coming to college and making a good impression and really pursuing my dreams to no end. It's just that only recently have I noticed the results I have been getting. I will never stop my pursuit of excellence. I just want to let you all know that it is important to look back sometimes and just be happy about the good work you have done. Then you can strive to make it even better. Remember, better is never enough. Make people want to make others better.
Lastly, Wild SF. These two guys have made me feel like I'm finally starting to become the person I want to be. They told me the thing that stood out about me was my kindness. I always strive to be a better person than I was yesterday and I may finally be a better person now. I will soon be working for them on their free walking tour service. I'll be a tour guide for the Downtown SF area! I'll walk people around and just be myself. And for once I know that people will like me for that. I feel so comfortable around these gentlemen and they have inspired me greatly with their ambition. Never forget to not only surround yourself with people who you love, but people who push you to be a better person and who strive to be a better person themselves.
This is all the crazy stuff that has happened to me in college that has surprised me and come very unexpectedly. I was always a guy with a plan, but who knew the greatest things in my life would come out of the blue. Never in my wildest imagination could I picture any of these things happening. So now I just wait for the next incredible thing to happen. Until then though, on with the master plan! Let's strive for excellence!
