Top 5 favorite Gallavich moments!
I will try my best to narrow this down to 5! These are definitely in no particular order!
1. The wedding - for obvious reasons. They’re married!! They’re husbands!! They’re so happy!!
2. Prison reunion - Mickey giving up his freedom for Ian is just, everything. He knew he was more free in prison with Ian than he’d ever be anywhere without Ian.
3. The dock scene - because, well:
4. “Can I go in with him?” - because I love sobbing and having my heart ripped out. In all seriousness, this scene is just so meaningful for them, I think. The way they cling to each other, the tears, the emotion. Ian is so ashamed and Mickey isn’t angry about anything he’s done; he just wants him to be okay. They are deeply hurting but love each other so deeply and this moment reflects that really beautifully even if it’s tough to watch.
5. “Rain on me” - I know it was only a blurb of a post credit scene but I LOVE this moment. They are so carefree and happy and wholly their authentic selves. And when I think of those two scared kids, closeted, hiding who they are to each other, and now they are dancing and singing together in the bathroom to motherfucking Ariana and Gaga?? My heart simply bursts for our boys.
Honorable mention: “You’re a sneaky bastard.” - I love groomzilla Mickey but I also super love Ian doing something sweet and thoughtful for his husband-to-be to help calm him. Ian “play what cool” Gallagher attempting to play it cool, Mickey grabbing Ian’s hand in front of every patron at the Alibi, Ian’s sweet smile at the end. The perfect scene.
