I'm pretty sure Kama is a joke character? Japan isn't as liberal as we'd like to believe and a guy like ONE who creates a gay man who is a rapist and a joke probably isn't writing a respectful depiction of transwomen.

I think pretty much every character in One-Punch Man are either parodies or jokes. Including Okamaitachi.
ONE often starts off with a joke, even if it's a shit joke. (not going to get into a further discussion of PPP right here)
If you're interested in pursuing an analysis about Okamaitachi as a character, (how she is or isn't good representation, how or why she's a joke character, what the author's intent with her seems to be, any of those types of questions) I would highly encourage you to pursue those questions! I love reading things about that and I think that kind of literary analysis is important. That's just, not quite what we're doing here.
The main issue that we were trying to resolve was that there was confusion in the fandom regarding her identity.
There were people trying to argue that Okamaitachi was not intended to be seen as a trans woman, but rather as a cross-dressing man, or as gay man in drag. For that reason there was a lot of discussion in the fandom over how to treat her, what pronouns to use, etc.
It seems that the majority of fans I've interacted with have always thought of Okamaitachi as a trans woman. That's not entirely representative of the entire One-Punch Man fanbase however. The confusion is prevalent enough that several attempts had been made to update her wiki with the correct gender marker and pronouns to no-avail.
The confusion may persist because of continuing translation errors. We hope that bringing attention to this will help to clarify things in the future.
This isn't a question of whether or not Okamaitachi is 'good' trans representation. It's about clarifying the author's intent for an non-Japanese speaking audience. This is bring attention to a translation error and amending the wiki for accuracy.
Since Okamaitachi is intended to be read as a trans character her wiki should correctly reflect that fact. The wiki isn't concerned with a qualitative analysis, but it should accurately reflect the content it describes.
