There was silence for a long moment as Bill thought over her words. He often wondered if he could handle it. The other losersâŚthey looked up to him for some reason. There had been an unspoken agreement that Bill was their leader and he never fully understood why.
For the most part, they listened to him.
He was worried that listening to him would get them killed. Bill knew that his quest for justice for Georgie might get him killed, but he owed it to his little brother. His friends didnât have that obligation and he didnât want to drag them down with him, especially if he was unable to keep a level head.
âIT kn-knowsâŚIT knows how to gu-gu-get to us the most. Iâll see Juh-Juh-Georgie.â Bill knew it wasnât really his brother, but if that thing took on Georgieâs appearance againâŚwell, Bill wasnât sure if he would be able to hurt something that looked like his little brother.
