I've always thought it would be a snooze to be an archaeologist. Â They go and study primitive societies and do extensive digs. Â We've seen the movies where they are digging down into the earth and with each layer of dirt they find more primitive fossils and artifacts. Â Boring I think. Â I got a first-hand taste of being an archaeologist on a dig today. Â I decided to clean out my wife's car. (I know what your thinking? Â What a wonderful husband.) Â I will say my lady is on call quite often and when on the run tends to toss things into the back seat. Â As I ventured into cleaning the inside of her vehicle, I wondered if it would be wise to be in a hazmat suit? Â My first unusual find was a mini-plunger. Â I don't know why that was in the car. Â Then I uncovered a still wrapped an unopened loaf of banana bread.(That was beneath discarded fast food bags.) Â My most incredible discovery(Near the end of my vehicle cleaning.) was a Blockbuster Video box that at one time held the cinematic classic "Corky Romano". Â ( Chris Kattan's breakout hit.) Â That thespian has some fine work on his resume. Â Think of "Undercover Brother" and "Monkey Bone". Â As I went back into the house I asked my wife what the story was with these finds I unearthed? Â She made a face and said, "Hey I'm busy". Â I just let it go at that point. Â All I'd end up with was her angry at me. Â I remembered the last time I cleaned her car and found that the kids had all enjoyed a bowl of soup in the backseat. Â We had an argument that day. Â I explained how soup in a bowl was not car food. Â Kind of like spaghetti's not a travel food either. (Have you ever heard someone say they're running late and will just grab a plate of spaghetti to eat in the car? Â Never!) Â Her response that time was "We had to keep moving". Â I've changed my opinion and have a new respect for archaeologists. Â The car is clean "for now". Â I did lay down the law with the whole Soup Incident. Â I told my wife if she was ever to serve soup again to our children in a moving car, no spoons only straws. Â And no crackers.
