I decided on two images for my wide image, which I think represent two time periods of my life.

The first image represents the Web, and it calling me to adventure forth into it, just as autumn calls for you to adventure forth during its season.

It’s Sunday morning and I’m walking into the church. I’m immediately uncomfortable. I tug at my clothes in an attempt to fix an imperfection that doesn’t exist.

Everyone else seems to be happy, greeting one another with warm and welcoming smiles. There’s a smile on my face, but it’s a nervous one that is a poor attempt to hide my self-consciousness.

Restriction/Perfection Career - Characterized by the lack of perfection: “Connecting this memory to my career discourse, perhaps my family’s expectation of perfection is why I am drawn to the Web. The Web is an ever-changing, completely imperfect entity. It exists just the way it is. No explanations, no expectations for you to understand it. It just is.” Family - My family’s expectation that I will be perfect and regulate the my activities to those they deem appropriate. Entertainment - The townsfolk/Gaston’s point of view. Community - The literal control of all aspects of one’s life, even down to what is considered appropriate to wear.

My personal emblem of happiness is autumn. There is a sense of peace and tranquility that I associate with autumn that I can’t find anywhere else. Autumn also has a sense to it that adventure is just around the corner. Everything in nature is changing, so maybe everything might change for you too.

The quickness with which I knew what image and phrase I would use for this part of the mystory was astonishing to me. They came to me automatically.
