Aroma: Malt, coffee and faint cocoa

Pour: Black with dark tan bubbling froth that stays

Taste: Lovely roast malt wash with rich toasted grain and ground coffee notes. Silk mouthfeel and soft carbonation with lots of dark treacle and molasses in the background. Aftertaste is more coffee and this is a lovely sup.

Pour: Cola black with light tan bubbling froth that stays

Taste: Warm light chocolate bitters with malt and ash swirling around. Nice undercutting dryness and grainy, biscuit notes. Smooth oily mouth feel with soft carbonation and dry bite. Aftertaste is roast malt. A very solid stout, a lovely traditional flavour to it. Perfect off the shelf.

Aroma: Pine, slight toffee malt, melon

Pour: Hazed amber with with bubbly froth reducing to skim

Taste: Fresh pine cut wash with soft notes of melon and grapefruit. Light malt background for balance and a nice medium dry bite to finish. Good crisp ipa with lots of flavour. Medium carbonation, light resin mouthfeel and aftertaste of pine. I could drink this all day long which is sort of the point of a session ale I guess!

Aroma: Pine, sweet malt, caramel

Pour: Clouded dark amber with frothy off white head

Taste: Big wash of cedar and pine and background pineapple, hint of mango and lovely balance of caramel toffee malt. Medium body, soft carbonation, light resin mouthfeel with a good pine dry bite to finish. Aftertaste is cedar and malt. This is a big hitter at 6.2% and lovely sups with it. Wicklow Wolf are solid!

Aroma: Raisin, caramel, toasted grains, fruitcake and hint of vanilla

Pour: Deep ruddy brown, opaque, with tan froth reducing to a healthy skim

Taste: Sweet toffee wash with lush liquor licked notes of figs and woody, nutty fruitiness. Really rich bourbon flavour punches through accentuating the malt caramel and treacle. Soft carbonation and oily mouthfeel with a good kick to finish from that abv without any cut though. The emphasis here is all in the richness - bloody lovely. Very suppable and very tasty.

Pour: Ruby black with tan froth

Taste: Burnt, dark coffee with roast malt notes. There’s hops floating about in there too lending a subtext of spice and citrus. Ends on a nice dry bite. Beautiful balance of typical rich stoutiness with the floral hop flavours and that dry finish, very tasty.
