Wickermoon Academy... It looks so much more inviting online.

Theo glanced up from his phone, taking in the strange aura surrounding the main gates. It was just past lunchtime and the sun was high in the lightly-clouded sky, but he couldn’t see anyone out on the campus. 

He compared the dark gothic monstrosity in front of him with the glossy picture on his screen, sighing to himself. 

He was so preoccupied with the phone to notice the wrought iron gate until it met with his forehead with a very unwelcome ‘thwack!’ Stumbling backwards Theo rubbed his head, looking up at the dark iron.

He turned toward a snickering man coming out of the security booth and he dropped his hand, cheeks tinting pink.

“Ya know, usually people let us open the gates before they try coming in.”

Theo bit his lip. “Yeah, well I thought I would try something a bit different today.”

The man smirked, shoving his hands in his pockets. “Oh? And how is that working out for you?”
