            ☽                   ❛  i  still  think  you’re  foolish  to  throw  your  life  away.  ❜  leave  it  to  katerina  to  make  friends  with  someone  as  equally  as  stubborn  as  her.  though,  she  imagines  part  of  her  knew  that  coming  to  roman  would  lead  to  this.  she’d  never  felt  safer  than  when  she  was  around  him.  she  still  feels  guilty,  though.  he  still  had  a  whole  life  to  live  and  she’s  taken  that  from  him  the  moment  she  begged  him  to  hide  her.  paranoia  and  a  genetic  inability  to  trust  made  it  hard  to  go  to  the  cops  with  what  she  knew.  roman  wouldn’t  betray  her.  ❛  i  wouldn’t  hate  you  if  you  wanted  to  go  back.  ❜  words  mumbled,  arms  wrapping around  the  others  middle.  oh,  she’s  too selfish  to  let  him  go,  isn’t  she?  ❛  have  i  thanked  you  enough,  though?  I  feel  like  all  i  do ... is  question  why  you’d  drop  everything  for  me.  ❜

          ☾                      college was supposed to be her escape, but her father still found ways to dictate her life, as evidence by the accounting homework scattered across the table before her. he’d never had a son, after all, so it was all up to katherine to take over the family business, as it were, but of course.... she DID have other plans. the large anatomy textbook in her lap was her real escape, a hope that maybe she could forge her own path if she so chose to do so. completely in her own world, the brunette humming along to the music blasting from her headphones, the rest of the world doesn’t seem to exist.

    IRIS FELT AS IF SHE WAS PRACTICALLY DRENCHED IN SWEAT. SHE WAS PUSHED TO HER LIMIT TODAY. but that was to be expected when the pete dunne visited her wrestling school to show them a thing or two. though she was exhausted, it was exhilarating to learn from one of the best in the business today. she was on a high from it all and she almost tripped out of the ring when she exited it to get her bottle of water. cursing under her breath softly, she prayed no one saw that and rushed over to the bleachers to grab her water and take a large swig of it.

she glanced back over to the ring just in time to see pete making his way towards her. she felt her heart suddenly thunder heavily against her chest. was he coming to talk to her? what could he possibly want to say to her? did she impress him? a million questions ran through her mind so fast that suddenly pete was in front of her and she had no clue if he even said anything to her yet. “ ummm. did i do good? ” she asked, realizing she might’ve sounded a little foolish. she plastered on a nervous smile hoping she didn’t look too stupid in front of him.

                          She left the office in a trance, letting the door stay open and ignoring the well-wishes coming from the senior director. There was nothing he could say, nothing anyone could say, that would make her feel better right now. Everything was breaking apart, her whole life was slipping through her fingers  –  Paige had NOTHING left anymore. They had taken away all that she loved, all that she’d fought for.  No.  She had caused it. They had warned her not to step back into that ring again, not yet at least  --  but still, she’d gone. She’d felt that there had been something wrong even before her first doctor’s appointment  --  yet she’d ignored it.                                                                                                               and now it was too late.

                          Jittery legs were carrying her through the hallways, hands occasionally pressed against a wall to steady herself. The ravenhaired greeted no one, responded to nothing; she just wanted to LEAVE, she needed to get out before her emotions took over. The entrance door was forcefully pushed open, and a sob was leaving her throat as soon as she stepped out in the sun. A couple of steps more, just a few more meters and Paige would reach the safety of her car  –  though it was not granted her. Someone stepped into her way just moments before she would’ve reached her refuge.  &  just as if he knew something was wrong, he placed a hand on her arm. Whether words were leaving his mouth or not, Paige could not say  --  the warmth emanating from his skin had been the final straw, and now tears were threatening to leave her eyes.   ❛   I  –  Roman, I’m  —  My career, it’s  – it’s   o v e r.   ❜

                        the streets were   cruel, the english woman knew that all too well. after fleeing her family, friends and country when she was sixteen, saraya tried to make herself a life in the united states. her savings only got her so far, no one would rent a studio or efficiency at the tender age of sixteen and without any income. that left one place for her to go—–the streets. now it was ten years later and while she’d found a warm, comfortable, albeit not the chicest place to live with the   “   sisters   ”   she’d made on the streets in her   profession. most would call her slurs as she walked the streets late at night; prostitute, street walker,   hooker. it was all so demeaning to her. people didn’t understand that while sex work is unorthodox, it’s a way of life for people and   not everyone   is ashamed of it. saraya certainly wasn’t, at least.

                        tonight her spot was a local club that johns typically gathered in almost like a   herd of animals. she’d had a few drinks inside before making her way outside, standing close to a nearby alley with a cigarette in hand. ruby red lips wrapped around the stick, taking a drag. the let out was a cloud of smoke in the   chilly   fall air. saraya observed the surroundings while she finished her cigarette. pulling her coat closed tightly, she noticed a man in a car a few meters down the sidewalk.   perfect. approaching the car, she gave a sweet smile and leaned in with her arms folded on the door.

                        “   chilly night, innit?   ”   her smile widened.   “   what’s a guy like you doin’ in a place like this wif his windows rolled down to let in the cold? you look like you could use some   warmin’ up, yeah?   ”

To say Cassie and Joe were best friends, would be a bit of an understatement, because what the two of them shared, was so much more than the definition of friendship. He was her rock, the one person in the world she could depend on and trust, more than anyone in the world, and he was also going to be the father of her child, even if they weren’t necessarily having a baby in the most traditional sense. Cassie and Joe had first met one another when he started frequenting the gym she worked at, and from day one, they’d hit it off, and just connected in a way she’d never connected with anyone before. He just got her, much like she got him, and that fact alone was probably why every relationship the two of them got into, ended up being a disaster, but they were always there for one another when every relationship failed, and after so many of them actually did, they both decided to just give up on the whole dating bullshit, and they’d just spend all their free time with one another, even if it was as just friends.
