Material Magica - Visualization as one of the Vehicles for Magick in Modern Practice
One of the most interesting questions asked today how is magick practiced and what makes it so potent a tool in the modern practitioner’s arsenal? One of the most important things I learned early in my practice was what was the “intent” of the ritual being performed? Intention sets the stage for the entire show/ritual about to be performed. Khi Armand notes, “Visualization is consciously choosing to have an inner experience of something without it necessarily occurring physically or in the present moment”. He goes on to say, “Visualization is a powerful tool in magick as it can create an experience in the present moment of an event or circumstance that one might want to attract or achieve in the future” (Armand, 2018). Visualization is also used when setting one’s intentions before an act of magick is ever performed. Effectively predicting the outcome creates the the setting within which the practitioner may achieve their intent (goal) and creates a synergistic framework that is empowered through ritual and their steadfast belief it will happen.
There can be no true success in magick without having a set goal/intent in mind and a specific target to which it is intended to effect. Note the attached pictures which have symbolic meaning and intent through imagery meant to invoke or evoke a specific response or feeling within the viewer/reader. What do these pictures invoke or evoke in you? How do they make you feel? Do they inspire you or give you a specific goal towards which you might direct your rituals/practice?
Respond with your comments and tell us what they invoke in you.
