whYes
It begins with "Why?"
Why me? Why her? Why am I so lucky? Why do I have to question everything? Why do I often think I need answers? Why anything?
A theme of my life. A self-imposed, deliberate, often silly, perhaps masochistic theme of my life.
There is often little point in my constant analysis, but I'm not sure I will ever change or ever want to change. Thus, it is less of a complaint, so much as it is a statement.
I can be comfortable with it, and sometimes I am.
The reason for this is because of the ending, linked by the start — "Yes."
As there appears to always be room for questions, there is always room for the absence of them, or at least comfort in their loneliness. I do not need answers to any question, let alone all of them. I can just reply, "Yes."
Now, this is not to say I plan to never turn a critical eye to anything. It is unlikely that I will ever stop overthinking.
What it means is that I can say "yes" more so in action than in speech. I do not need a full answer, or an answer at all, to do something, to believe in something, to feel anything.
Y maybe be the empty end of the question, but it is also the open beginning of the answer: the journey.
